In this guide we will walk you through 5 basic steps to get your classes up and ready in no time.

Set up your first class

Within the Classes & Titles section of the site you have the ability to manage your classes.

You can either click to create a new class, or if you are just exploring a Demo account you may opt to use the Default Class that we’ve already set up for you.

To add students simply press the “Add Students” button and you’ll be given three options, to add students individually, in a block, or by importing a list (such as an excel document).

Choose a title

Titles are managed from within each classroom, so once you click to open that classroom you’ll see a tab to “Assign Titles & Lessons”

Here you will find a list of the course titles available to you. If you have purchased a title already, you will find it under “Titles to Assign”, and all you have to do is click “Assign to Class” in order to get started.

If you have not made any purchases yet, you may choose to assign a Demo of a title to your class. This gives you access to a sample of the lessons in the curriculum, as well as full teacher management powers over assignment, grading, and reports for those lessons.

Simply choose the title you would like to assign, and we’ll move on to the next step.

Explore the curriculum and Teacher Resources

One of the most popular parts of our site are the Teacher Guides that come with each title.

These cover everything an instructor needs from start to finish of the course.

To help you prepare before the course begins, we lay out the necessary prerequisites for students as well as the teacher responsibilities.

During the course, you can look to the discussion questions and topics outlined for each lesson. Grading rubrics and forms are also included to help with assessment.

Once the course is over, you will also find customizable certificates to present to the students.

Set Due Dates

Now that you have an idea of the curriculum, you can go ahead and plan out your entire term!

Just go to “Assign Lessons & Due Dates” next to an Active Title and set due dates for each lesson.

For help planning out the timing, in the Teacher Guide we also include the estimated amount of time that will need to be spent on each lesson.

Set Grading Standards

The final step in setting up your courses is to set the grading standards.

You’ll find defaults set for you, but you have the power to adjust the values for each lesson.

Changing the relative grade points for each lesson will automatically change their weighting on a student’s grade.

And that’s it! Just these 5 steps and you could have your entire term’s curriculum set from start to finish. From lesson planning to setting deadlines and grading, it’s all there for you.
